New Years Eve in London: Part 2

I quickly discovered that there is so much to do in London for New Years Eve. Whether it’s getting tickets to see the fireworks, attending a ticketed event at a restaurant or club, or finding a high spot in the city. The options are endless.

Unfortunately, it was too late for us to get tickets to see the fireworks (the last batch sold out December 2) but we did want to see them. Along with that many of the clubs/ restaurants in Camden were sold out, so we weren’t sure of what to do.

After stopping by McDonalds for a fountain Coke and Diet Coke (you can take us out of America but you can’t take the America out of us), we came back to the flat to rest and form a game plan.

Luckily, we ran into our awesome fellow AirBnB neighbors, Virginia and David. We proposed that we all go watch the Fireworks from Parliament Hill. After Skylar researched a few blogs, we decided on Parliament Hill due to the many many references of its views of the City and close location to Camden. One of these blogs recommended that we grab a drink at the Bull & Gate. So that was our game plan; we would rest for about, grab a drink at the bull and last and then celebrate on parliament hill.

We used the tube as our main transportation, originally I was afraid that it was going to be packed, but it actually was not bad. After a drink and chips at the Bull & Gate, we made our way to Parliament Hill.

Surrounded by 100+ people, we popped some champagne and watched the new year arrive. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people, in one of the prettiest cities to help ring in the new year.

Happy New Year to all!
